Totally agree that the ideas are bored... I didn't see any changes except upgrading decors and show acitivites since recent years. However the ratings are falling down, as an opposite proportion. Also I think the same that it addresses high standart people, for ex I was talking with some female friends at previous days about VS '07 show and they said it's only to see models, and enjoy the show, the lingerie there don't interest them. If we think the general situation of the world (approximately 3% of part of the total world population, has got %96 of the total money & wealth), if necessary to explain the low ratings of VS '06 show, people selected to see lingerie for them instead of enjoying beauty & show. And I consider the opposite opinions as we are in a beauty forum and ppl here will definately choose to see beauty

Hahah no,no,no my friend I was actually in Utah and the grand canyon area for a little bit visiting some friends. Mcnicky my dear, As far as the whole VS only applying to the elite. Im confused. What aspect of the VS show is it that you consider too elite? The Themes? i knwo the tickets are pretty much unattainable, but I myself consider the show more of an entertaining show where you admire the worlds most beautiful women wearign the worlds most beautiful clothing, rather than an advertisement for the products the models are wearing.

As far as we see the low ratings of VSFS 2006 we notice that exaggerated effects & lingerie don't interest the audience anymore... I'm saying the ideas of VS FS are for almost elite class & beauty watchers and they don't draw attention of general public. As I said million times, reducing can be made by changing the ideas, not having worse decors and a simple fashion show, ok?

Can anyone post a source for the alleged low ratings of the VS 2006 show? In case it's true, I don't think it has anything to do with disinterest. There's a lot of interest from people around the world, unfortunately most of us don't have CBS. Couldn't low ratings be due to something else than disinterest due to "exaggerated effects", like bad advertising for example? Sure, their first show had less "exaggerated effects" but it also had a commercial aired during Super Bowl which attracted enough interest that web servers literally went down. I don't think people are any less interested in watching some of the world's sexiest women strut down the catwalk now than they were, say, five years ago. And for me, the high "show factor" is a positive, not a negative. But yea, I would like to see a reliable source for the low ratings stuff. Not that I don't believe it. It's just that I've seen it mentioned a few times now and I would like to know where it comes from...

Well, it could be due to bad promotion I guess. Also, maybe an increasing popularity of the show has made it easier to find the show online the day after it airs on TV so people don't see the need to catch it immediately when it airs? I mean, last year the show was up on YouTube and Ryoni the day after or something. I think there are many factors to consider here. Just because the TV ratings have dropped doesn't mean the show is any less popular. There are literally thousands of Victoria's Secret videos on YouTube because of that show.

well you are right in a way, there are lot's of things that makes the ratings low. See, ppl works for VS don't look how many ppl loves VS & VS models or how many videos of VS exist in youtube. The only thing draw attention of them is TV ratings. My only worry is the chance that VS shows can b cancelled. Believe me the low ratings or smething else won't interest me, if there will be a VS show for sure (even only I watch it in the world lolol )

Well, according to Limited Brands, 2006 was a good year financially for VS and CBS is still making money on broadcasting the show according to that source you posted. Even if CBS didn't make money on the broadcast, VS would just have to pay the advertisers some extra money and they would still be able to have the show aired on CBS. And I bet VS makes tonnes of money off the show from publicity alone. So it seems like a win situation for all parties involved. I don't think there's any reason to fear the show will be discontinued anytime soon. Of course it's hard to know in a business world where things can change so fast but right now VS is in a good position financially and they seem to be constantly raising the bar for their shows. It's always fun to see what they come up with and I'm very much looking forward to this year's show.

I do clearly remember that after the VS2006 Arthur, Borono and me posted a series of links with the ratings for the show and comments about that show and the previous ones

And it was exactly there where we learned that the amount of viewers dropped constantly from 2001 to 2003, and even the suggestion that the 2004 show ws canceled not only because the tit of Janet Jackson but also because the low levels of audience

We learned that o the 2005 re-initiation of the show the audience were better than 2003 but lower than 2002 and that the 2006 audience was less than 2005 and in some of those papers the analysts even mentioned the chances to cancel the show in 2007

This year probably will be casted again but if the audience does not improve then the future is definitively uncertain

And I should remark: It has NOTHING to do with the constant rising and improvement of the company, which definitively IS growing steadily. Is just about one of the multiple branches of company which is not doing as expected.

And definitively it's important to MAKE IT CLEAR that Mert, me and several other people are more than WILLING for the show to be continued, that's why we always show our concern about the need of improving the show in order to INCREASE the audience!, we are TOTALLY AGAINST the cancellation of the show!!

So please CENTER everyone on the real thing that we have been arguing here: Either increasing publicity, changing the format, adding something else WHATEVER is needed to increase the audience of the show will be welcome, because is a FACT that the audience is decreasing.

I think in other European and Asian countries it is at least shown a few weeks later but here...NEVER...why???

Well here, in Turkey we watch it at new year night, until 2006, CNBC's Turkish channel CNBC-e aired at when we entered to the new year, at 00:00. So we always watched after 1 month later. But the last year VS 2006 aired in a local channel (which I hated, they dubbed model's voices ) and it was a disaster definately. Therefore there is no law that only CBS airs it. Maybe a local channel of Germany broadcasts it too, uh?

I am absolutely sure that no German channel airs it...
every year the news show a lot of backstage stuff and short clips but...thats all...

I think the 2006 bra and its bearer was revealed in October. So the 2007 version probably won't be revealed before October either.
