south america, central america and spain are spanish language countries. s&c america latinos, and spain are spanish. brazilian and portugal are portuguese, and theirs is french and italian but they have their own language. what's the romanian language? i don't considered italian, french, brazilian latinos. i don't know about romanian don't know their history. c.america and some s.america have root of spanish and indian. some s.america has root of european that's why some of them look white. brazilian is more diversity they have african, spanish, french, italian background. and yes french, portuguese, hispanic (latinos), italian have roots of latin that's why the language sound almost the same.

Well Jessica, I don't blame u, bt unfortunately is not what we considerer but what what it is. As for example, I will cite the Wikipedia (which is the favorite of most of you): quote: Latins From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search
For the other uses, see Latin (disambiguation).
The Latins were an ancient Italic people of Latium Vetus (Old Latium), who migrated to the area in the 2nd millennium B.C., maybe from the Adriatic East Coast and Balcanic Area, maybe where they was pushed away by Illirian people. Although they lived in independent city-states, the Latins had a common language (Latin), common religious beliefs and a close sense of kinship, expressed in the myth that they were all descendants of Latinus, the father-in-law of Aeneas. Latinus was worshipped as Jupiter Latiaris on Mons Albanus (Monte Cavo) during an annual festival that was attended by all Latins, including the Romans. The Latin cities extended common right to residence and trade to one another. Rome's territorial ambitions united the rest of the Latins against it in 341 BC, but the final victory was on Rome's side in 338 BC. Consequently some of the Latin states were incorporated within the Roman state, and their inhabitants were given full Roman citizenship. Others became Roman allies and enjoyed certain privileges. Gradually, with the spread of Roman power throughout Italy, 'Latin' ceased to be an ethnic term and became a legal category. Contents [hide]

[edit] Modern uses
In modern times the term "Latin" is most commonly applied as an adjective to people of Italian, French, Portuguese, Romanian or Spanish descent because their languages descend from Latin.
Also for your information, Romanian speaks Roman, which is among all the latin languages the closer to the original Latin (Italian Included) But the similitude is not only in languages, but also cultural, even ethnically. That is why not only Romanian models but also Spanish, Italian and other latin country models "looks like latins", because we all are latins You live in Tucson, where is the University of Arizona, where I studied my PhD. Goto the Anthropology Department or to the Bureau of Applied Anthropology, they can give you very good information about it (the U of A is among the USA top 20 Universities) You are a smart girl, so I know that reading some will make you a lot of good
